Programming is done via the CAN bus itself. The minimum configuration consists of two terminating resistors, a CAN-2-USB interface and the power supply for the CANalarm. (in practice, a single terminating resistor is usually sufficient without a cable)<\/p>\n<p>The CANalarm is addressed via the software on two configurable IDs. The default setting is 7A0h for the Set-ID and 7A1h for the Reply-ID.<\/p>\n<p>If the addresses are unknown, the configuration menu via the keys on the CANalarm can help. Press the &#8220;Reset&#8221; and &#8220;Mode&#8221; buttons together for one second. By repeatedly pressing the &#8220;Mode&#8221; button, the Set-ID and the Reply-ID are also displayed. These ID&#8217;s must be entered in the configuration software in order to communicate with the CANalarm. A change of the ID&#8217;s is only possible via the software.<\/p>\n<p>The configured addresses must be free on a later bus. The configuration can also be carried out later directly in the running bus.<\/p>\n<p>In a bus with a\u00a0power supply, the CANalarm gets its power from there.<\/p>\n<p>Further details on the
